UI/UX design for SaaS and B2B products

UX decides what the product does and in what order. UI decides how it looks and how it behaves. Split the two between suppliers and you get screens that are finished and still hard to use — so the same team does both, on the same product, at the same time.

Where teams usually start

  • The product works, but the flow everyone complains about has been on the roadmap for three quarters.
  • You are about to raise, and the interface has to hold up in a demo.
  • Engineering is faster than design, and screens are being decided in pull requests.
  • There is no system, so every screen is a new argument about spacing.

What the work covers

Research and testing

Interviews, competitor research and testing sessions, run before design starts and again once there is something to click.

Flows and structure

The order of the steps, what belongs on which screen, and what happens when it is empty, slow or wrong.

Interface design

Production-ready screens that meet AA and AAA accessibility standards, with every state and edge case annotated.

Design systems

The components, tokens and rules your engineers build against, so the next screen does not restart the argument.

Prototypes

Clickable flows for testing with users and for agreeing a direction before anyone writes code.

AI features

Where the product uses a model, the interface has to make its limits obvious — we design for the wrong answer as well as the right one. Usually part of a wider engagement rather than a project of its own.

How it runs

  1. We start in your tools

Miro, Trello and Slack on our side; we join yours where it is easier. You get a client space with the task board and everything in progress.

  2. One priority at a time

We work on what matters most this week, join your standups, planning and reviews, and share progress every week. You can change the priority whenever you need to.

  3. Two to three people

Including the manager, and one person often holds more than one role — a UX designer who also runs the research, say. Who is involved depends on the stage, so you are not paying for a team standing by.

  4. Handover your engineers can build from

Annotated screens, states, edge cases and the system behind them. No handover meeting required, though we will join yours.

What it costs

Two monthly subscriptions and a fixed-price option. Pause for up to two months or cancel with three weeks’ notice — the terms are the same whichever you pick.

Send the product, the flow you are worried about, and what you have already tried. You will get a reply from a designer, not a form response.

Where this sits in our product plan

What is the difference between UI and UX design?

UX is whether the product helps someone do the thing they came to do: the flow, the order of the steps, what happens when something goes wrong. UI is the part they see and touch: layout, type, colour, motion, states. A product needs both to be decided together, which is why we do not sell them separately.

How much does UI/UX design cost?

Fractional is $4.2K a month for a senior team working part-time on your product. Full-time is $7.7K a month for the same team on two priorities at once. Fixed-price projects start from $30K and usually run two to three months. The pricing page states all three in your own currency.

Do you work with our in-house designers and engineers?

Yes, and most of our work runs that way. We join your standups, planning and reviews, and work in your repository’s design system rather than starting a second one beside it.

How soon can you start?

Within a week, if a seat is available. We hold a limited number of seats so that the people on your product are not spread across five others.

Where are you based, and what hours do you work?

Most of the team is in Vietnam, with two of us in Mauritius. We work remotely and asynchronously, typically across GMT+2 to GMT+11, so there is overlap with both European and Asian working days.

What if the scope changes?

On a fixed-price project we update the scope of work in writing. On a subscription there is usually nothing to update: you change the priority and we work on that instead.
